Challenges

Lack of Awareness

Since the product focused on women’s health, a significant challenge was raising awareness among the target audience. High educational costs were required to inform potential users about the product's importance and benefits.

Demand Gaps

Although the product addressed real issues, the pain points were not urgent or severe enough for customers to prioritize, resulting in lower-than-expected demand.

Regulatory Restrictions

Expanding the product into new markets was difficult due to strict medical regulations, which varied from region to region, making scalability a major hurdle.

Payability

The services were not covered by insurance, and reducing the price was challenging due to high lab costs, making affordability a barrier for many potential users.

After story

Ferne Health officially stopped operations in September 2023, 3 years after its launch. All B2B contracts were sold to another Indonesian femtech startup, Plans (www.with-plans.com), and a Singapore MedTech company acquired the rest of the marketing assets and database.
