  • Photoshop Mix

    Photoshop Mix was a mobile app designed for non-destructive photo editing, allowing users to cut out and combine images with multiple layers and blending modes. It provided a simplified version of Photoshop’s core features, including layer-based editing, blending, and basic image adjustments like exposure, contrast, and saturation.

  • Photoshop Fix

    Photoshop Fix was a mobile app designed to allow users to perform quick, yet powerful, image retouching and restoration. It featured tools like healing, smoothing, liquify, and light adjustments, enabling users to edit photos with precision.

As the UX Designer for Adobe’s Photoshop Fix and Photoshop Mix, my role focused on refreshing the UI, designing new features, improving the overall UX, and supporting the engineering team for implementations.

Challenges

  • Usability Across Devices

    Designing for consistency across mobile devices and screen sizes was critical to delivering a smooth user experience.

  • Integrating New Features Without Overloading UI

    The challenge was to integrate new functionalities without cluttering the interface, keeping it user-friendly and intuitive.

  • Lack of Product Management Support

    We didn’t have a dedicated product manager overseeing feature development, so I took on a more direct role in collaborating with the engineering team to build features, designs, and implement redlines.

Responsibilities

BaUI and UX Updates

Led the design refresh for both apps, enhancing the overall user interface and improving the interaction flows.

Prototyping & Usability Test

Independently conducted usability tests to validate design decisions, making necessary improvements to the overall experience.

Cross-functional collaboration

Worked closely with engineers to understand technical constraints and supported the seamless implementation of features.

Achievement and Deliverables

  • Mix Cutout Feature Launch

    Successfully designed and contributed to the milestone launch of the highly anticipated Mix Cutout Feature, enabling users to isolate and combine image elements seamlessly.

  • Onboarding Experience Improvement

    Designed and implemented improved onboarding tutorials to enhance user understanding and engagement with key features.

  • Image Picker Redesign

    Recreated the image selection experience, making it easier for users to select and manage images within the app.

  • Achieve 1 Million MAU

    During my tenure on the project, we achieved a significant milestone of reaching 1 million monthly active users, marking a major success for the app.
